WATERLOO - Donald E. Webber, 87, of Waterloo, died Monday, Feb. 21, at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born July 29, 1923 in Waterloo, son of Howard and Kathleen Hall Webber. He married Darlene Olsen on Feb. 12, 1944, in San Luis Obispo, Calif. She died March 14, 2006.

Mr. Webber was employed as a sheet metal journeyman with Local 45. He also was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survived by four sons, Danny (Vivian) and Douglas, both of Des Moines, Dirk (Deb) of Waterloo and Dana (Pat) of Jesup; three daughters, Diane (Jim) Woolsey of Fresno, Calif., Debbie (Rick) Morris of Cedar Falls and Denise Gander of Waterloo; 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Bernie of Waterloo; a sister, Shirley White of Cedar Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: a granddaughter, Allison Webber.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Full graveside military rites will be conducted by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19, Evansdale AMVETS Post 31 and the Iowa Army Honor Guard. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
