LA PORTE CITY — Douglas C. Slaikeu, 57, of La Porte City, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, at Manor Care Health Services, Waterloo, of cancer.

He was born Sept. 29, 1953, in Fort Dodge, son of Duane and Doris Cameron Slaikeu. He married Sabrina Geary in 1977, and they later divorced.

Mr. Slaikeu graduated from La Porte City High School in 1972 and worked at John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for several years.

Survived by four daughters, Heather (Larry) Moores and Nichole (Steven) DuPree, both of Texas, and Jenna Harvey and Jessica Harvey, both of Waterloo; nine grandchildren; his parents of La Porte City; three brothers, Dwight (Judith) and David (Kathryn), both of La Porte City, and Darwin of Davenport.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, La Porte City, preceded by an hour of visitation. La Porte City Funeral Service is assisting the family.
