WATERLOO - Halona M. Weber, 85, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, at ManorCare Health Services.

She was born May 24, 1925, in Arlington, daughter of Braxton and Laura Brooks Hassler. She married Joseph H. Weber on Oct. 20, 1944, in Waterloo. He died March 29, 1995.

Mrs. Weber, known as "Granny," was employed as a resident counselor with the Black Hawk County Youth Shelter for 21 years, retiring in 1994.

Survived by three sons, Ed (Paula) of Fargo, N.D., Jim (Tammy) of Keota and Bob (Kim) of Grinnell; four daughters, Patti (Jim) Carr of Green Valley, Ariz., Connie Fagle of Waterloo, Jeanne (Pat) Winberg of Elk Run Heights and Laurie (Mark) Speer of Jesup; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; twin brothers, Richard (Margaret) Hassler of Maynard and Robert (Judy) Hassler of Jesup; and a sister, Barbara Westcott of Colorado.

Preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond and Harold in infancy and Stanley; and two sisters, Mabel and Bernita.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 4:30 p.m. rosary. Visitation also an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church.
