Helen M. Kitner, 81, of La Porte City, died Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at her home of natural causes. She was born January 27, 1927 in Volga City the daughter of Wayne and Gretchen Dohrer Abel. She married Delbert Kitner on June 5, 1947 in Waterloo.

Survived by: her husband Delbert of La Porte City; two sons, David (Jackie) Kitner of Garrison, Wayne (Beverly) Kitner of La Porte City; one daughter, Melody (David) Rodas of Aurora; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and one brother, Robert (Barbara) Abel of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by: her parents.

Services: will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 24, 2008 at the American Lutheran Church with burial in the West View Cemetery, both in La Porte City. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and one hour before the service at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to the American Lutheran Church in La Porte City.
