LA PORTE CITY - Dorothy A. Warford, 90, of La Porte City, died Thursday, Jan. 6, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center, Waterloo.

She was born Feb. 29, 1920, in Independence, daughter of Bert and Ada Kephart Martin. She married Donald Warford on June 1, 1940, in Manchester. He died Sept. 18, 1998.

Survived by: two daughters, Karen (Leonard) Vanorny of Solon and Dianne (Jim) Meyer of La Porte City; three grandchildren, Tim Meyer, Randy Meyer and SueAnn Shuler; a brother, Kenneth Martin of Cedar Rapids; and a sister-in-law, Laverna Hosek of Manchester.

Preceded in death by: her parents; four sisters, Faye Schuman, Florence Thompson, Bernice Carter and Velma Holman; and five brothers, Merle, Marion "Abe," Donald, Lawrence and Richard Martin.

Graveside services and burial: 11 a.m. Tuesday at West View Cemetery, La Porte City. There will be no visitation. La Porte City Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
