WATERLOO — Craig L. Caslavka, 68, of Waterloo, died Monday, Jan. 3, at Allen Hospital of cancer.

He was born May 11, 1942, in Vinton, son of Lawrence and Charlotte Greaser Caslavka. He married Linda Kerns on March 18, 1961, in Nashua, and they later divorced. He married Clarice "Reece" Kammeyer on Feb. 23, 1991, in Waterloo.

Mr. Caslavka graduated from Traer High School in 1960. He was employed as a chemical engineer for John Deere for 39 years, retiring in 1999. He currently was trustee chairman for the Waterloo Water Works. He was secretary and past Exalted Ruler of the Waterloo BPO Elks 290; past state president of Iowa Elks Association; Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49 1st vice chairman (membership); Department Iowa 1st vice chairman (membership); Department Iowa Sons of AMVETS commander; and Principal Race Officer for 25 years with Reece for the Clear Lake Yacht Club.

Survived by: his wife; two sons, Alan (Cindy) Caslavka of Dallas and Brandon (Carrie) Kammeyer of Waterloo; two daughters, Pamela Lichty of Plano, Texas, and Shannon Kammeyer of Eldora; nine grandchildren, Mitchell, Bradley, Daniel, Blake, Bryanna, Brittaney, Cara, Carlee and Braylon; a brother, Curtis (Arlys) of Middleton, Wis.; a sister, Sharon (Joe) Sichra of Waterloo; and his stepmother, Winnie Caslavka of Marion.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Graydon.

Celebration of Life: 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Public visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Locke Funeral Home, with a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Friday at the church

Memorials: may be directed to the family to fulfill his dream of sponsoring Honor Flight trips for veterans
