LA PORTE CITY - Michael P. Howard, 63, of Clinton, formerly of La Porte City, died Thursday, Dec. 30, at his home.

He was born May 8, 1947 in Waterloo, son of Merville and Mary Stafford Howard.

He was a livestock dealer in Mayfield, Ky.

Survived by: his wife, Charlene Howard of Clinton; four sons, James Howard of Grove, Okla., Shawn (Sharon) Howard of Sacramento, Calif., Shane Howard of Sarasota, Fla., and Eric Strackbein of Fulton, Ill.; four grandchildren, Allie, Layna, DeLaney and Justin; two brothers, Merv and LeeRoy Howard, both of Waterloo; and three sisters, Sharon Haack of Waterloo, Mary Lou Baumgartner of New Lisbon, Wis., and Susan Disrud of Waverly.

Preceded in death by: his parents; and a brother, Tom Howard.

Services: noon Monday at Pape Funeral Home, Clinton, with burial in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Public visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
