[Bio info provided by Al Manning Jr}

Ruth Elizabeth Kollasch was born November 15, 1900, in Meadville, Missouri, the daughter of Henry and Susan J. Sensenich Gauger.

Ruth was married to Ernest Albert Manning in 1919. They resided in Linn County, Missouri. Ruth and Ernest had one son, Albert. The story goes that Ernest kissed Ruth good-bye one morning, and that was the last she ever saw of him. According to the Meadville Messenger this happened on or about October 26, 1925, when Ernest left for nearby Chillicothe, MO on business. He did not return, and within about 1 1/2 years Ruth apparently learned that he had died.

Attempts to uncover any additional information, e.g., where he died, how he died, exact date of death, where he is buried, why he didn't return, etc., have been unsuccessful.

In 1927, Ruth married John Kollasch, after having heard of Ernest's death. No children were born to this union. They divorced in 1950.

She moved to Waterloo, Iowa in the early 60's to be near her son, Albert, and his family. She was baptized at, and became a member of, Walnut Street Baptist Church in Waterloo.
