ULFERS, DIRKSEN, BROUWER, LUMLEY, DRALLE, VAN ZETTEN, ROTGERS, GREENFIELD

CEDAR FALLS — Mildred Elizabeth Ulfers, 91, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Parkersburg, died Sunday, Dec. 26, at Bickford Cottage of natural causes.

She was born Oct. 25, 1919, on a farm north of Austinville, daughter of Dick and Gertie Dirksen Brouwer. She married Harvey Ulfers on Jan. 14, 1939, at Reformed Church parsonage in Dumont. He died May 19, 1992.

She attended rural school in Butler County. The couple farmed by Parkersburg for 34 years. She attended Bethel Reformed Church in rural Aplington.

Survived by: three daughters, Marlys (Gary) Lumley of Urbandale, Sharon (Richard) Dralle of Parkersburg and Diane (James) Van Zetten of Chicago; two sons, Milton (Marilyn) of Allison and Harvey Jr. (Jane) of Cedar Falls; 14 grandchildren, Janna (John) Brehm, Michelle Dralle, Michael (Robyn) Dralle, Mitchell Dralle, Matthew (Amy) Van Zetten, Aaron (Virginia) Van Zetten, Sarah (Ben) Bruins, Emily (Aaron) Epley, Stacia (Chris) Bloomfield, Kristen (Robert) Wix, Chelsey Ulfers, Ethan Ulfers, Alex Ulfers and Ben Ulfers; 14 great-grandchildren, Joseph Brehm, RJ and Sidney Dralle, Greta and Ezra Van Zetten, Kelsey and Samuel Van Zetten, Liberty, Indy and Nile Epley, Abbie, Brooklyn, Colby and Eden Wix; and two brothers, Harold (Kathryn) Brouwer and Wallace (Marian) Brouwer, both of Aplington.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Carl Brouwer; and two sisters, Dena Rotgers and Gertrude Greenfield.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hope Reformed Church, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, both in Parkersburg. Public visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Hope Reformed Church, Parkersburg, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church. Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home, Parkersburg, is in charge of arrangements.
