WATERLOO - Raymond Reynoso, 85, of Waterloo, died Friday, Dec. 12, at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.

He was born Nov. 18, 1925, in Dwight, Kan., son of Joseph and Anastasha Hurtado Reynoso. He married Iva Stewart in September 1959 in Des Moines. She died July 30, 2003.

Mr. Reynoso served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and worked at various positions at Rath Packing Co., retiring in 1982. He was a member of the VFW and Queen of Peace Catholic Church.

Survived by: a brother, Richard (Delores) Reynoso of St. Joseph, Mo.; two sisters, Carmen (Clete) Simons of Topeka, Kan., and Mary McNeal of Des Moines; five grandchildren, Toni (Steve Dobbs) Kruse, Earl Kruse and David (Stephanie) Kruse, all of Waterloo, Rebel (Gary Melcher) Kruse of Hopkinton and Bo Kruse of Altoona; 15 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-great-granddaughter.

Preceded in death by: a daughter, Shirley Kruse; a great-granddaughter, Katie Kruse; a great-great-grandson, Gage Kruse; and two brothers, Ralph Reynolds and John.

Services: 1 p.m. today at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard and Becker-Chapman Post 138 American Legion.

Ray especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren camping and hunting.
