John P. Cummings (1983-2009)

WATERLOO - John P. Cummings, 25, of Waterloo, died Monday, July 13, from injuries received in a motor vehicle accident.

He was born Sept. 3, 1983, in Waterloo, son of Mark and Teresa Urich Cummings. He married Rachel Gilles on Aug. 30, 2004, in Waterloo.

He attended school in Waterloo and was a head cook at Bonanza Steak House.

Survived by: his wife; two children, Keenan and Kyndra; his parents of Waterloo; two sisters, Tracy Urich and Julie Cummings, both of Waterloo; his grandfather, Paul Urich of Waterloo; and his grandmother, Diana (Cecil) Lauterbach of Reinbeck.

Services: 2 p.m. Saturday at Community of Christ, followed by cremation. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home.
