Rites Thursday
at Cedar Falls

CEDAR FALLS- The funeral service for William H. Griggs, 815 State Street, who died at Sartori Memorial Hospital at 4 p.m. Monday will be at the First Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Thursday, conducted by Reverend H. D. Temple.

Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Washington Township north of Cedar Falls.

Mr. Griggs, 66, was taken to the hospital only Monday. Death was due to a thrombosis. Griggs was for many years a salesman for the Morris Motor Car Co., Waterloo, and later in Cedar Falls. For the last few years he had been employed as guard at the Rath Packing Co.

He was a member of First Methodist Church, Cedar Falls.

He was born September 3, 1882, in Ontario, province of Canada, where he grew to manhood and was educated in Canadian schools.

He came to the United States and was a volunteer soldier in the Spanish-American war.

On October 19, 1914, he married Maude Helfer at Yankton, South Dakota. They came to Iowa and Cedar Falls about 25 years ago.

The widow and one daughter, June, at home, survive. One daughter preceded him in death.

There are also a brother and three sisters, They include; R. E. Griggs, Detroit, Michigan; Miss Frances Griggs, Williamsburg, Virginia; Mrs. Grace Dunlap, Palmyra, Virginia, and Mrs. George Smith, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
