CEDAR FALLS - Janet Francis Griffen, 81, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, Nov. 19, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.

She was born July 10, 1929, in Iowa City, daughter of Vernon and Helen Corrick Gould. She married Donald Griffen on Sept. 12, 1947, in Ames. He died Nov. 14, 1999.

Mrs. Griffen was employed in retail sales with several women's ready-to-wear stores, including Mode O'Day, Braley's, Smart Shop and the Chalet.

Survived by: two sons, Gary (Melissa) of Bellingham, Wash., and Scott R. (Linda) of Cedar Falls; four grandchildren, Justin, Jesse (Trish), Jed and Ben Griffen; and a great-grandchild, Tyler Griffen.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Dick Gould; and a sister, Gloria Doerrer.

Graveside services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Home, with family present from 5 to 7 p.m.
