WATERLOO - Betty Lou Puhl, 80, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, at Allen Hospital of kidney failure.

She was born Sept. 22, 1930, in Fonda, daughter of Marvin and Effie Abbott Bandy. She married James F. Puhl in 1960 in Illinois.

Mrs. Puhl graduated from Independence High School in 1948 and was employed with the Mental Health Institute, Independence, for several years.

Survived by: her husband; a daughter, Lou Anne (Mike) Puhl-Keiltz of Waterloo; two sons, Donald (Tami) Davis of Cedar Rapids and James R. (Billie Jo) Puhl of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Robert Grinage of Barron, Wis., Jennifer Cooley of St. Louis and Krista Lou Kielty of Waterloo; a great-grandson, Carter Matthew Lindquist; and a brother, Marvin (Alma) Bandy of Independence.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with burial in Waterloo Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today and for an hour before services on Friday at the funeral home.
