WATERLOO — Lucille J. Carstensen, 90, of Waterloo, died Monday, Nov. 8, at the Western Home Martin Center of cancer.

She was born Aug. 26, 1920, in New Hartford, daughter of John and Jesse Marks Aswegan. She married Leslie Carstensen on June 30, 1940, in Shell Rock. He died Nov. 22, 1983.

Mrs. Carstensen was employed by Aramark for many years, retiring in 1982.

Survived by: three daughters, Judy (Wayne Purk) Pullin and Donna Freese, both of Ankeny, and Elaine (Lyle) Leeper of Cedar Falls; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and a sister, Frieda Bramblett of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by: a son, Dale; a brother, Herman Aswegan; two sisters, Carrie Vaughn and Edna Cowell; a granddaughter; and a great-grandson.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Trinity American Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Garden View Chapel and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.
