WATERLOO — Marjorie M. Willis, 89, of Rochester, Minn., formerly of Waterloo, died Saturday, Oct. 30, at Seasons Hospice in Rochester.

She was born March 8, 1921, in Stoutsville, Mo., daughter of Lemuel and Grace Searcy. She married R. Galen Willis on Sept. 15, 1951, in Hannibal, Mo. He died Sept. 4, 1992.

She graduated from Christian College in Columbia, Mo., in 1940 with a music degree. She was a reliability analyst for John Deere for 23 years, retiring in 1982. Mrs. Willis was active in Homebuilders Sunday School Class at Central Christian Church in Waterloo.

Survived by: a son, Rodney Willis of Ramsey, Minn.; a daughter, Melody (Doug) Hudson of Rochester, Minn.; and two grandchildren, Jennifer (Justin) Langstraat and Dan Hudson.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Lemuel Searcy; and a sister, Pauline (Reavis) Capps.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Evangel United Methodist Church, Rochester, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Public visitation from 4:30 to 7 p.m. today at Macken Funeral Home, Rochester, and an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

She was an avid bridge player and a wonderful cook. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, playing piano and organ, fishing, camping, sewing, knitting and the Minnesota Twins. She will be remembered for her warmth and hospitality and beautiful blue eyes.
