RIDDER, BAUMGARTNER, KUNKLE, BARTLETT, LINGUA, BENNETT, ROGERS, CROSSLEY

WATERLOO, IOWA - Ralph H. Ridder, 84, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Oct. 21, at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 4, 1925, in Waterloo, son of William and Sylvia Baumgartner Ridder. He married Beverly A. Kunkle Aug. 21, 1949, at Calvary Evangelical Church in Waterloo.

He graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1944 and attended Iowa State Teachers College. Mr. Ridder was a general foreman at Waterloo Corrugated Box (Mead Corporation). He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a lifetime member of Elks 290 Waterloo Lodge and Orchard Hill Church.

Survived by: his wife; four daughters, Linda (Dave) Bartlett of Cedar Falls, Judy (Joe) Lingua of Waterloo, Jean (Scott) Bennett of Mason City and Jenny (Walt) Rogers of Cedar Falls; 14 grandchildren, Jeremy Bartlett of Des Moines, Ben (Erin) Bartlett and Joel (Sally) Bartlett, all of Cedar Falls, Emily (Jason) Wellnitz of Cedar Rapids, Lisa (Dave) Young of Dubuque, Nick (Angelina) Lingua and Annie (Dan) Olsen, all of Waterloo, Tim (Lauren) Thomsen and Sarah (Ryan) Majerus, all of Iowa City, Dan (Megan) Thomsen of Boone, Will Thomsen of Cedar Falls, Jonathan (Katie) Rogers of Cedar Falls, Alli (Kirk) Dahlgren of Nashville, Tenn., and Michael Rogers of Cedar Falls; 20 great-grandchildren; a sister, Alice Crossley of Solon; a brother, Paul Ridder of Cedar Rapids; and a sister-in-law, EllaMarie Ridder of Garner.

Preceded in death by: a brother, James W. Ridder.

Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Orchard Hill Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery with military rites by Waterloo AMVET Post 19 and Evansdale AMVET Post 31. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the church. Locke Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Memorials: may be directed to the family or Orchard Hill Church.
