WATERLOO — Leland Wayne Bergstrom, 85, of Maryville, Tenn., formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, at Maryville Health Care Center, Maryville, of natural causes.

He was born June 16, 1925, in Troy Mills, son of Arthur Sauer and Katie Bergstrom. He married Margaret Brase on Sept. 26, 1948, in Nashua. She died Dec. 28, 2000.

Mr. Bergstrom was employed by Rath Packing Co. for 40 years, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II.

Survived by: two daughters, Diane (Jim) Bartels of Westgate and Carol (William) Miller of Townsend, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: a son, Arlan; and a great-grandson.

Services: 2 p.m. Friday at Garden View Chapel Funeral Home, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation for an hour before services Friday at the funeral home.
