CEDAR FALLS — Charles J. Fobian, 88, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, Oct. 11, at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community, Waverly.

He was born Dec. 21, 1921, in Denmark, son of Peter and Laura Petersen Fobian. He married Lois M. Lindberg on Aug. 16, 1946, in Jubilee. She died Nov. 13, 2004.

Mr. Fobian graduated from New Hartford High School in 1941 and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He farmed in the rural Janesville area and was a DeKalb seed corn dealer.

Survived by: a son, Steve (Lyne) of Janesville; a daughter, Michelle (Richard) Glockner of Janesville; and two grandchildren, Brianne and Jonathan Power.

Preceded in death by: two brothers, Kaj and Reinholdt; and a sister, Agnes Holtzman.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Finchford Community Bible Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Richardson Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or Alzheimer's Association.
