HUDSON - Marlys Jean Fausch, 78, of Hudson, died Friday, Oct. 8, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, of cancer.

She was born June 29, 1932, in Waterloo, daughter of Clarence H. and Lillian Schiefelbein Tanner. She married Paul Dewey Fausch on Sept. 24, 1949, in Waterloo.

Mrs. Fausch had worked several different jobs over the years, including The President's Hotel; Chamberlain Manufacturing as an inspector for many years; and had operated Andy's, her brother bar in Hudson for several years.

Survived by: her husband; a son, Steven (Chris) of Solon; a daughter, Debra (Randy) Henson; and two grandsons, Judd and Mitchell Henson, both of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: her parents; a son, Douglas; four brothers, Frank, Sonny, Bud and Virgil; and five sisters, Alice Murphy, Ruth Conner, Virginia Thompson, Mabel Hulse and Fern Hurd.

Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, Waterloo, with burial in Hudson Cemetery, Hudson. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and an hour before services Thursday at the funeral chapel.

Marlys will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She enjoyed garage sales, cooking. She was a collector of depression glass and was very fond of the pinks. She had a soft heart for her poodles and any cat that came around. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandsons.
