WATERLOO - Louis E. Premer, 86, of Waterloo, died at his home of natural causes.

He was born Nov. 17, 1923, in Bethany, Mo., son of Donald and Roberta Hacker Premer. He married Carol Harrison in South Dakota, in 1958. They later divorced.

Mr. Premer served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during World War II from 1943-46. He was employed with John Deere for 36 years in tractor experimental farming, retiring in 1983.

Survived by: four daughters, Barbara (James) Leopold of Oxford, Sharon (Daniel Stevens) Kriegel of State Center, Sandra Romig of Marshalltown and Laura (Fred Hall) Fay of Waterloo; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: two brothers; and a grandson.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, with visitation an hour before the service. Graveside services 1 p.m. Tuesday at Miriam Cemetery, Bethany, Mo., where full military rites will be conducted by the Bethany V.F.W. Post 2176 and American Legion Post 216, the Eagleville American Legion Post 56 and the Cainsville American Legion Post 257.
