WATERLOO - Elden Johnson, 91, of Waterloo, died Friday, Sept. 24, at Friendship Village Retirement Center of cancer and Alzheimer's disease.

He was born Nov. 28, 1918, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, son of Floyd and Selma Moomaw Johnson. He married Doris R. Blough April 4, 1942, in Waterloo. She died March 26, 2006.

He attended Manchester College in Manchester, Ind., and graduated from Iowa State University in 1941. Mr. Johnson farmed from 1951-61 in Orange Township and was a sales rep in Iowa, retiring in 1985. He was a member of South Waterloo Church of the Brethren.

Survived by: two daughters, Janice Lee of Round Rock, Texas, and Jeanette Dillon of Eagle River, Alaska; a son, Ralph Johnson of Hollywood, Fla.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Wayne Johnson of LaPorte, Ind., and Dr. Daryl Johnson of Athens, Ga.; and a sister, Evelyn Zook of Gig Harbor, Wash.

Preceded in death by: a son, David; a granddaughter; and three brothers, Vernon, Frank and Lowell.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at South Waterloo Church of the Brethren, with burial in Orange Township Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Locke Funeral Home.
