CEDAR FALLS - Joan Irene Harrington Dunlap, 79, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, Sept. 23, at Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born Oct. 2, 1930, in Des Moines. She married Don Dunlap July 29, 1949.

She graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1948. She was a member of Christ Church Presbyterian since the 1950s and the choir for more than 30 years. She was a member of PEO Chapter KK since 1959 and Abbe Creek Questers since 1988.

Survived by: two daughters, Pam Wessling (Mike) of Garland, Texas, and Vicki Zachman of Cedar Rapids; two sons, Steve Dunlap of Cedar Rapids and Randy Dunlap (Sara) of Daleville, Va.; two sisters, Marilyn Reed of Cedar Rapids and Diane (Ron) Christensen of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, Eugene Harrington (Marty) of Cedar Falls; two grandsons, Jeff Zachman and Craig (Tracy) Zachman; a granddaughter, Kristin (Chad) Sims; five great-granddaughters; and a great-grandson.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Christ Church Presbyterian, with burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, both in Cedar Rapids. Public visitation for an hour before services Monday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to Christ Church Presbyterian in lieu of flowers.

The family would like to thank Higley Mansion Care Center, Mercy Hospital, Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center, and Mercy Hospice for their caring compassion shown to Joan.
