CEDAR FALLS - Clifford L. Drenner, 83, of Clinton, Ark., formerly of Cedar Falls, died May 23 in Little Rock, Ark.

He was born July 12, 1926, in Grundy County, son of J. Elmer and Louise Behrens Drenner. He married Ramona Mason March 19, 1950, at First United Methodist Church, New Hartford.

Mr. Drenner was a member of First United Methodist Church, Clinton, Ark., and a former board president/fireman with the Alread Volunteer Fire Department. He was a committeeman and assistant leader for Boy Scout Troops 42 and 43 in Cedar Falls. He retired from John Deere in 1982, where he worked in product test and evaluation. He served in the Iowa State Guard for three years.

Survived by: his wife; two sons, David (Mary-Sue Bartlett) of Cedar Falls and Bill (Martha) of Waterloo; two daughters, Candi Talley (Tom Kegelman) of Amherst, Mass., and Peggy (Doug) Shaffer of Jesup; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren, with one more on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: two brothers and sisters-in-law, Orville and Edith, and Herb and Elvera; and a sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Earl Christian.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49, with military rites conducted at 11:15 a.m, and burial in Hillcrest Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial fund: has been established.
