WATERLOO — Donald F. Roe, 78, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, at home.

He was born March 30, 1932, in Waterloo, son of John and Louise Roethler Roe. He married Barbara Pint May 26, 1953, in Iowa City.

Mr. Roe was employed with the John Deere Tractor Works for 27 years, retiring in 1985. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army.

Survived by: his wife; a son, Donald A. (Brenda) of Waterloo; three daughters, Dawn R. Glasgow of Davenport, Tresa J. Katzmann of Des Moines and Dana L. (Hamza) Hosni of Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Marguerite Prindle of Waterloo; and three brothers, Frank (Donna) of Waterloo, Arthur of Branson, Mo., and Robert of Cameron, Mo.

Preceded in death by: a son, Duane; a brother, John; and two sisters, Ilene Robinson and Kate White.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, where full military rites will be conducted by Evansdale AMVETS Post 31, Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and the Iowa Army National Guard. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation an hour before services Saturday at the church
