WATERLOO — Jadrian Simon Nathaniel Manning, 24, of Waterloo, died Friday, Sept. 3, as a result of injuries suffered in a bicycle/motor vehicle accident.

He was born June 26, 1986, in Waterloo, son of Anthony "Tony" Manning and Susan Schubich Brooks.

Mr. Manning attended St. John/St. Nicholas Elementary School where he was active in the wrestling and football programs, continuing in those sports at Bunger Middle School, Evansdale. He attended high school in Waterloo, later receiving his GED from Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge.

Survived by: his parents, Susan "Suzy" (William "Butch" Kearney) Schubich Brooks of Waterloo; his father, Anthony "Tony" Manning of Fort Madison; five brothers, Jeremy Manning of El Paso, Texas, and Nathan Manning, Nathan "Nate" Brooks, Wade Kearney and Winston "Stony" Kearney, all of Waterloo; two sisters, Crystal "Coco" Brooks of Waterloo and Jordan Brooks of USN Jacksonville, Fla.; a stepbrother, Billy (Bridget) Kearney of Sheldahl; a stepsister, Kelly (Todd Tetmeyer) Kearney of Ankeny; a niece, Naomi "Nani Chan" Brooks of Waterloo; two stepnieces, Hannah Brown and Isabel Tetmeyer of Ankeny; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and good friends.

Preceded in death by: maternal grandparents, Caesar "Dutch" and Anastasia "Stasi" Bela Schubich; paternal grandparents, William "Bill" and Viola "Vi" Ferring Manning and William "Red" and Iona Shadman Kearney; an uncle, Randy Manning; and three aunts, Marylyn Tingstrom De Fosse, Judy Kearney Fink and Doris Kearney Blankenship.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Friday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with inurnment in Calvary Cemetery. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, where there will be a 4:30 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials: may be directed to the family in care of Midwest Federal Employees Credit Union, P.O. Box 1167, Waterloo, IA 50704, in lieu of flowers

Jadrian loved fishing, especially on the Wapsie, spending time giving his niece fishing tips. Jadrian had a passion for wrestling and mixed martial arts, proudly training with his cousin Eddie Berinobis at East Side MMA. Jade had a warm and kind heart and a deep love for his large and extended family. He was a great friend, hard worker and volunteered at the St. Vincent de Paul store and Queen of Peace community meals. Jade had some outstanding mentors in his life, including Dave Cushing, Dennis Scarborough, Deb Reily, Holly Helm, Judy Fox, Dewayne Price, Helen Kemp, Bill Tate and others. The family has greatly appreciated all they have done for him over the years.
