EVANSDALE — Douglas Melvin King, 59, of Evansdale, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.

He was born Feb. 4, 1951, in Arkansas, son of Arvel and Allie Earls King. He married Jackie Gansen on June 8, 2002, in Las Vegas.

Mr. King was employed as a heavy equipment operator in road construction.

Survived by: his wife; a son, Christopher King of Cedar Rapids; four daughters, Shawna (Todd) Powell of Wisconsin, Dawn King of Waterloo and Natalie King and Naomi King, both of Texas; a stepson, Travis Gansen of Waterloo; a stepdaughter, Venus Gansen of California; 14 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a sister, Mickey King of Muscatine.

Preceded in death by: a son, Patrick King; two brothers, Sonny Tabb and Tony King; and four sisters, Linda King, JoAnn Wippert, Juanita King and Jerry Brinyark.

Informal Services: noon Saturday at Deerwood Park, Evansdale.
