WATERLOO - James M. Parker, 78, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born May 25, 1932, in Independence, son of Forrest and Dorothy Passmore Parker. He married JoAnn Stark on Aug. 31, 1957, at First Brethren Church, Waterloo.

Mr. Parker graduated from Hazleton High School in 1949. He was employed as a produce manager at Fairco Foods, Ankeny, retiring in 1997. He previously worked at Eagle Foods, Waterloo, for 29 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church.

Survived by: his wife; two sons, Kevin (Jan) of Waterloo and Steve (Karen) of Honolulu; a daughter, Deb (Jeff) Wagner of Overland Park, Kan.; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marilyn (Doug) Jass of Longville, Minn.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Locke Funeral Home, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Waterloo American Legion Post 138 and VFW Post 1623. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
