CEDAR FALLS — Neil L. Havens, 72 of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, Aug. 22, at home.

He was born Nov. 20, 1937, in Iowa Falls, son of Percy and Mary Ruth Brown Havens. He married Karen K. Price June 7, 1964, in Iowa Falls. She died June 6, 1994.

He graduated from Iowa Falls High School in 1956 and served in the National Guard. He was a painter at the University of Northern Iowa, retiring in 1998.

Survived by: two daughters, Darci (Hans) Koehnk of Jewel and Dawn (Aaron) Garms of West Salem, Wis.; two grandchildren; a brother, David (Diane) Havens of Cottage Grove, Minn.; and two sisters, Bernadine Eckerson of Worthington, Minn., and Elaine (Darold) Frerichs of Venice, Fla.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Philip Havens; and a daughter, Melissa K. Havens.

Services: 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Richardson Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, with burial in North Lawn Cemetery, Iowa Falls. Public visitation from 10:30 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials: to be designated at a later date.

Neil enjoyed participating in bowling and golfing leagues throughout the years and was a wonderful artist.
