CEDAR FALLS - William Edwin Nelson Jr., 69, of Cedar Falls, died at his home Wednesday, Aug. 18.

He was born July 25, 1941, in Charles City, son of William Edward and Frances Irma Schultz Nelson. He married Phyllis Ohrt June 13, 1966, in New Hampton.

Mr. Nelson served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a carpenter and auto mechanic in Charles City, and later worked for a short time at Winnebago Industries, Forest City. He retired from Viking Pump Co. in 2004 after 27 years of service.

Survived by: his wife; a daughter, Marie Ann (Scott) Minard of Forsyth, Mo.; a son, Cord Will (Sarah) of Waterloo; four grandchildren; and a brother, John (Kathy) of Thompson.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Tom; and a sister, Margaret Conry.

There will be no service or visitation. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
