WATERLOO — Mazell Reed, 77, of 1224 Beech St., died Tuesday, Aug. 10, at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.

She was born Dec. 7, 1932, in Durant, Miss., daughter of J.C. Wright and Nannie B. Odie. She married Watson James, and he preceded her in death. She then married James Reed, and he preceded her in death. She married Ivy Rucker, and they were later divorced.

Mrs. Reed was formerly employed by the University of Northern Iowa in the janitorial department.

Survived by: a daughter, Margaret (Charles) Zanders of Urbandale; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Viola Evans of Waterloo; and two brothers, Otha Wright of Waterloo and Jimmie Lee Wright of Rockford, Ill.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Thomas Wright.

Services: 1 p.m. Saturday at Ambassadors for Christ Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation for an hour before services Saturday at the church. Sanders Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials: may be directed to the family at 1224 Beech St., where they will receive friends.
