WATERLOO — Hattie P. Matlock, 48, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Aug. 5, at Allen Hospital emergency room.

She was born Feb. 23, 1962, in Hughes, Ark., daughter of Samuel William and Queen Esther Clay Boldon. She married Robert Matlock Jr. Aug. 5, 1986, and they later separated.

Mrs. Matlock graduated from Waterloo East High School and Hawkeye Community College.

Survived by: her common-law husband, Eddy Demota of Waterloo; three daughters, Evangela Matlock, Queen Matlock and Niomi Demota, all of Waterloo; two sons, Robert III (fiancee Kassie Kassemier) of Rochester, Minn., and Tyrecas of Waterloo; four grandchildren; five sisters, Dorothy Mae Boldon of Forest City, Ark., Jean Boldon, Essie (Roosevelt Shavers) Bryant and Flora Campbell, all of Waterloo, and Tiny Boldon of Rochester; three brothers, James Boldon of Forest City, Johnny Boldon of Chicago and John L. (Jan) Boldon of Waterloo; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: her parents; and two brothers, Floyd and Charles Boldon.

Services: 1 p.m. Friday at Jubilee Methodist Church, with burial in Shaulis Road Cemetery. Public visitation from 11 a.m. until services Friday at the church. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street is in charge of arrangements.
