GILBERTVILLE — Daniel L. Metcalf, 60, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Aug. 7, at Harmony House Care Center, Waterloo.

He was born Jan. 31, 1950, in Waterloo, son of Vincent G. and Rose Mary Schmitz Metcalf. He married Carol Buck on March 3, 1979, in Washburn, and they later divorced.

Mr. Metcalf graduated from Don Bosco High School and worked the family farm. He also had been employed in the stockyard at Rath Packing Co.

Survived by: two sons, Dr. James and Robert (Chris), both of Las Vegas; a grandson, Justice Gonda of Las Vegas; his mother of Washburn; three brothers, David of Harmony House, Robert (Vicci) of La Porte City and Gary (Amy) of Waterloo; a sister, Debra (Leonard) Becker of Waterloo; five nephews and five nieces.

Preceded in death by: his father.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, both in Gilbertville. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, Waterloo, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation also an hour before services Wednesday at the church
