WATERLOO - Rose Ruth Arends Cessna, 85, of Mount Pleasant, S.C., died Friday, July 9, in Mount Pleasant.

She was born Sept. 5, 1924, in Grundy county, daughter of Peter and Grace Hook Arends.

She was the property manager for senior citizens' locations in Illinois. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church in South Carolina.

Survived by: two daughters, Susan (Joe) Myers of Mount Pleasant and Beth Jo Ellen (John Kevin) Moore of Carrboro, N.C.; a sister, Irene Bird of Waterloo; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Arends of Charles City and Eleanor Arends of Humboldt; and six grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: two brothers, Grant and Merle Arends; and a sister, Violet Armstrong.

Services: were held in South Carolina and local graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Devotion section of Garden of Memories Cemetery. Garden View Chapel is in charge of local arrangements.
