WATERLOO - Donald G. Lentz, 61, of Parkersburg, formerly of Waterloo, died Thursday, July 1, at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.

He was born March 4, 1949, in Waterloo, son of George and Ruth Sorge Lentz. He married Cynthia Lou Ohrt Jan. 2, 1996, in Waterloo.

He graduated from West High School in 1967, attended UNI and served in the U.S. Navy Seabees during Vietnam. Mr. Lentz owned Don Lentz Heating, Cooling, Refrigeration and Electrical Co. for 25 years. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Black Hawk Creek Saddle Club, National Cattle Congress Equine Board and measurer for Pope and Young.

Survived by: his wife; two sons, Randy of Prior Lake, Minn., and Andrew of Milwaukee; a granddaughter, Alexandra Lentz of Prior Lake, Minn.; two sisters, Shirlee (Larry) Opdahl of Racine, Wis., and Judy Walker of Jordan, Minn.; and his dog, Buddy.

Preceded in death by: his parents, aunts and uncles.

Celebration of Life Services: 7 p.m. Wednesday at Locke Funeral Home, with military rites by Parkersburg American Legion 285. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials: may be directed to Ducks Unlimited or American Diabetes Association.
