WATERLOO — Michelle Darnise Brown, 45, of Lake Mills, formerly of Waterloo, died at home Tuesday, June 22, of heart failure.

She was born Nov. 29, 1964, in Chicago, daughter of Douglas and Jacquelyne Goss Brown.

Ms. Brown graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1982 and later attended Hawkeye Community College and became a certified nursing assistant. She worked for a time at Parkview Nursing and Rehab in Waterloo and most recently was a homemaker in Lake Mills.

Survived by: her fiance, Bob Harang of Lake Mills; her children, Mario Brown and Cherie Brown, both of Ames; her mother and stepfather, Jacquelyne and Walter Gray of Waterloo; a brother, Clarence (Sonja) Brown of Rosemont, Minn.; two sisters, Melodye McKinley of Des Moines and Jamese (Tony) Gray-McGee of Waterloo; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by: her grandparents, Junior Goss and Mabel Jackson; and her stepgrandmother, Mollie Gray.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, with burial in Garden of Memories. Public visitation for an hour before services Saturday at the chapel.

Memorials: may be directed to the family.

Michelle was a well-liked person who will be remembered for her beaming smile. She was easy-going and loved to pull practical jokes. Michelle was free-spirited and loved to help anyone around her. She enjoyed dancing, watching sports and most recently, studying the Bible.
