WATERLOO - Raymond Cook, 72, of Harpers Ferry, formerly of Waterloo, died Saturday, June 19, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born July 11, 1937, in Guernsey, Wyo., son of Robert and Delphia Foster Cook. He married Genevia Prior in 1966. She died in 1989.

Mr. Cook was a mechanic for the city of Waterloo for many years, retiring in 1990.

Survived by: a stepdaughter, Paula (Larry) Hansen of Harpers Ferry; eight stepgrandchildren; 15 stepgreat-grandchildren; two stepgreat-great-grandchildren; a brother, Bruce (Jane) Cook of Pahrump, Nev.; and a sister, Elizabeth Emmons of Right, Wyo.

Preceded in death by: a stepson, Louis "Sonny" Prior; a brother, Robert Cook; and a sister, Lois Cook.

Graveside Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Poyner Township Cemetery, where full military rites will be conducted by Evansdale AMVETS Post 31, Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and the Iowa Army National Guard, with inurnment there. There will be no visitation. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street is in charge of arrangements.
