WATERLOO - Frederick Harry Mallie, 71, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, June 15, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born Feb. 23, 1939, in Anamosa, son of Alfred and Gertrude Porter Mallie. He married Sharon Ann Kilcher May 9, 1964. She died in May 1999.

Mr. Mallie graduated from Tripoli High School in 1956 and was a Marine Corps reservist for eight years. He farmed in Tripoli and had worked as a substitute mail carrier in Sumner. He was a member of Sumner United Methodist Church.

Survived by: a daughter, Teresa Mallie Brathwaite of Sunnyvale, Calif.; two sons, Ivan of Waverly and Bruce of Bronx, N.Y.; two grandchildren; and a sister, Helen (Jack) Mallie Ackerman of Cedar Falls.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Sumner United Methodist Church. There will be no visitation prior to services. The S.K. Rogers Funeral Home, Sumner, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials: may be sent to Cedar Valley Hospice, the Tripoli Public Library and Camp Courageous of Iowa.
