WATERLOO - Margarette Celia Moses Knief, 95, of Columbia, Tenn., formerly of Waterloo, died Thursday, June 3, at Signature Health Care of Columbia, Columbia, Tenn., of natural causes.

She was born Sept. 29, 1914, in Waterloo, daughter of Earl and Maggie Miner Moses. She married Edmund Knief on Aug. 18, 1934, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo. He died Aug. 28, 1993.

She graduated from Waterloo East High School and worked for Rath Packing Co. for 29 years.

Survived by: her children, Mary (Bob) Sutton of Phoenix and Gerry (Nancy) Knief of Spring Hill, Tenn.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: her husband; and two brothers, Clark Moses and Cecil Moses.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Waterloo, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, Waterloo.

Margarette always felt her family came first and her life revolved around them. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, traveling, camping and fishing, especially on the Mississippi River, where she and Edmund had a second home.
