GILBERTVILLE - Mildred A. "Millie" Wermerskirchen, 85, of Gilbertville, died Sunday, June 6, at Manor Care Health Services, Waterloo.

She was born Sept. 26, 1924, in Raymond, daughter of Albert and Catherine Albus Reuter. She married Vernon Clarence Wermerskirchen on Nov. 26, 1946, in Raymond.

Mrs. Wermerskirchen worked 20 years in the housekeeping department at Friendship Village, Waterloo. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Gilbertville.

Survived by: her husband; two sons, Mark (Mona) and Rick (Carol), both of Waterloo; six daughters, Janice (John) Brustkern of Evansdale, Carol (Paul) Tope of Center Point, Connie (Dave) Francis of Cedar Falls, Paula Wermerskirchen of Waterloo, Norma (John) Hinding of Austin, Texas, and Donna (Ron) Jojola of Albuquerque, N.M.; a sister, Lucille (Eldon) Geber of Cedar Falls; 20 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: a son, Robert; a daughter, Doris Kelsey; a grandson, Christopher Tope; five brothers, Ralph, Vince, Robert, Jerry and Norman Reuter; and five sisters, Maxine Kiefer, Helen Nelson, Marge Reuter, Arlene Cook and Mary Stultz.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Gilbertville. Public visitation from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at White Funeral Home, Jesup, with a 4 p.m. parish rosary and 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to the church and Beacon of Hope Hospice in Waterloo.

Millie was a loving wife to her husband, Vernon, for 63 years and enjoyed fishing, playing cards and Halloween.
