HUDSON — Robert Ray Dufel, 73, of Hudson, died Sunday, May 23, at Grundy County Memorial Hospital, Grundy Center, of natural causes.

He was born March 7, 1937, on the family farm in rural Hudson, son of Raymond and Florence Horstman Dufel. He married Shirley Mae Koch on March 10, 1957, in Hudson.

Mr. Dufel graduated from Reinbeck High School in 1955, then began his farming career, retiring in 1999. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Survived by: his wife; two daughters, Cindy (Mike) Bowen of Keystone and Connie (Mike) Twente of Armington, Ill.; three granddaughters; and a great-granddaughter.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Hudson, with burial in Reinbeck Cemetery, Reinbeck. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at French-Hand Funeral Home, Reinbeck.
