WATERLOO - Barbara Ann Gibson, 62, died Friday, May 21, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

She was born on June 27, 1947, in Gastonia, N. C., daughter of Ellie Lucille Guye.

She worked for Pharr Yarns in McAdenville, N. C. for 19 years and at Nichols Convenience Store in Belmont, N. C.

Survived by: two daughters, Kym (Mark) Howard of Waverly and Jeanie Maney of Lowell, N.C.; eight grandchildren, Joshua Farris, Jason and Kendall Maney, Meaghin Davis, and Cortney, Mackenzie, Seth, and Sean Howard; and two great-grandchildren, Keeley Howard and Preston Farris.

Preceded in death by: her mother; and two brothers, Ronnie and Ray Guye.

Services: 1 p.m. Monday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, both in Waverly. Following burial will be a reception at Kym and Mark Howard's home, 501 Terrace Drive, Waverly. Public visitation for two hours before services Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials: may be directed to Barb's family.

Barb enjoyed eating honey barbeque wings at Applebee's, burgers at Rita's, hosting sweet tea parties, helping others, and she was a converted Iowa Hawkeye fan and also enjoyed converting her friends to Tar Heel fans. Barb's greatest enjoyment was spending time with her grandchildren whether playing Mario video games or having a sleep over to watch movies.
