WATERLOO - Merlyn W. Krueger, Sr., 92, of Waterloo, died Thursday, May 20, at Lakeview Landing of Friendship Village.

He was born Feb. 2, 1918, in Cresco, son of William and Ada Mae Fox Krueger. He married Pearl Schmidt Feb. 18, 1943, in Lime Springs.

He worked at Stech's DX, Dahl Motors and Rath Packing Co. for 24 years, retiring in 1978. Mr. Krueger served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survived by: his wife; two daughters, Kay (Gary) Dickson of Collierville, Tenn., and Sue (Elvin) Meller of Waterloo; two sons, Merlyn Krueger Jr. of Greenleafton, Minn., and Davy (Marlene) Krueger of Waterloo; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: three infant grandchildren; seven sisters, Florence Melcher, Myrtle Smith, Inez Gunnelson, Naomi Sommer, Vilda Mandelko, Lenora Lingbeck and Violet Reinhart; and a brother, Eldon Krueger.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials: may be directed to Waterloo Christian School or Friendship Village.
