WATERLOO - Emily Peres, 88, of Waterloo, died Friday, May 14, at her home.

She was born June 11, 1921, in Port of Spain, Trinidad, daughter of Joseph and Ethel Texeira Gomes. She married Edward Peres on Oct. 26, 1946, in Port of Spain, Trinidad.

She was a homemaker.

Survived by: her husband; two daughters, Sandra (James) Borseth and Patricia Peres-Griffin, both of Waterloo; three sisters, Ailsa (Jim) Ducey and Diane Johnston, both of Canada, and Rita Dick of England.

Preceded in death by: four brothers and two sisters.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South St. today from 4 to 6 p.m. where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary. Visitation will continue for an hour before services Monday at the church.
