CEDAR FALLS - Peter J. "Pete" Evers, 81, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, April 26, in Oklahoma City.

He was born June 18, 1928, in Butler County, son of John and Grace Hemmen Evers. He married Thelma Rewerts on March 12, 1952, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.

Mr. Evers served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was employed at Viking Pump Co. as a welder for 34 years, and also operated Pete's Lawn Mower Shop. He retired from Viking Pump in 1990 and continued with Pete's Lawn Mower until he retired at age 80.

Survived by: his wife; a son, Dale (Debbie) of Edmond, Okla.; a grandson, Derek of Nashville, Tenn.; and a sister, Mary (John) Hippen, of Aplington.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Parkersburg. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.
