WATERLOO — Esther Marie Turner, 58, of Waterloo, died Monday, April 19, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center of cancer.

She was born March 17, 1952, in Waterloo, daughter of Warren and Josephine Arena Ledtje. She married Lawrence Petersen in 1978 in Waterloo. They later divorced. She married Daniel Warren Turner on Nov. 2, 1991, in Waterloo. He died Oct. 3, 1996.

She graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1970 and was employed with Bishops as a cashier for nine years and Powers Manufacturing for several years.

Survived by: a son, Jens Andrew Petersen of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Chelsea (Josh) Wilson of Waterloo; four grandchildren, James Papach, Christopher Petersen, Anna Allison Meester and Michael Wilson; her father, of Waterloo; her mother, of Muscatine; and four brothers, Anthony (Connie Cooling) Ledtje of Muscatine, Joseph Ledtje of Cedar Falls, and Warren Ledtje Jr. and Karl Ledtje, both of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: two sons, Jonathon David Petersen and Michael Jens Petersen.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. today and for an hour before services Friday at the funeral home.
