CEDAR FALLS - Juanita Seamens Dempster, 88, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, and Melbourne, Fla., died Saturday, April 17, at home on the Windcove Campus of Western Home Communities.

She was born Nov. 30, 1921, in Fairbank, daughter of Will and Laura Dean Seamens. She married Edwin A. Dempster on Feb. 13, 1939, in Manchester. He died March 7, 2004.

Mrs. Dempster graduated from Fairbank High School in 1937 and had been employed at Big T supermarket, Black's Department Store, J.C. Penney Co., DX-Sunray Oil Co., Peoples Bank in Waterloo and at Sun Bank in Melbourne, where she retired in 1997.

Survived by: a daughter, Carol (Merrill) Oster of Aurora, Ill.; a son, Les (Patti) of Cedar Falls; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: a daughter, Donna McCullagh; a brother, Calvin Seamens; a sister, Nina Hickey; and a great-grandson, Daniel Oster.

Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bethany Bible Chapel, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home, with family present 5 to 7 p.m.
