CEDAR FALLS -- Martha Elizabeth Hartke, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, at the Cedar Falls Healthcare Center of natural causes.

She was born Aug. 13, 1910, in Axtell, Neb., daughter of Walter August and Iva Lela Merick Olson. She married Fred A. Hartke Sr. on March 20, 1930, in Cedar Falls. He died July 8, 1983.

Survived by: two sons, Fred A. Jr. of Waterloo and Frank of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Betty Nelson of Lorton, Va., and Dorene Selleck of Cedar Falls; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; two half brothers, Ray Cannon of Cedar Falls and C.C. Canon Jr. of Winterset; and two half sisters, Rosiva O'Donnell of Council Bluffs and Evaline Shuster of Denver, Colo.

Preceded in death by: a son, Ralph; a half brother, Rhett Canon; and a half sister, Cloydine Anselme.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Garden. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and for an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials: may be directed to First Presbyterian Church.
