WATERLOO — Rosetta M. Schaefer, 99, of Waterloo, died Sunday, March 14, at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 16, 1910, in Black Hawk County, daughter of James and Mary Weber McGarvey. She married Peter P. Schaefer on Sept. 6, 1933, in Blessing. He died Aug. 25, 1955.

Mrs. Schaefer graduated from St. Mary of Mount Carmel High School, Eagle Center. She worked in the surgical supplies department at Schoitz Memorial Hospital and also at Schaefer Store, Eagle Center.

Survived by: five sons, Paul R., Patrick J. (Suzzanne), David J. (Teresa), Bruce W. (Danette) and Loras J. (Marlene), all of Waterloo; four daughters, Doris M. and Rita M. (Dan) Harrington, both of Waterloo, Rosemary Bryant of Ottumwa and Kathleen M. (Robert) Foster of Reinbeck; 23 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and two daughters-in-law, Marilyn of Washburn and Sandra of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: two sons, Donald P. and Peter A.; a daughter, Marian F.; a son-in-law, John Bryant; a grandson, Peter Foster; a sister, Irene (H.J.) Byrne; and three brothers, Leo (Rose), Sylvester (Blanche) and Ralph McGarvey.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Eagle Center, with burial in the church cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation also for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
