EVANSDALE - Ivan R. "Ike" Stanford Sr., 77, of Evansdale, died Thursday, March 11, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center, Waterloo.

He was born June 25, 1932, in Waterloo, son of Edward and Josephine Johnston Stanford. He married Gladys Postel on Feb. 1, 1953, in Waterloo.

Mr. Stanford retired as superintendent from Construction Machinery Co. and had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.

Survived by: his wife; two sons, Ivan Jr. (Shelly) and John Sr. (Kathy), both of Waterloo; two daughters, Connie (Jim) Abben and Susan (Bob) Mitchell, both of Evansdale; 10 grandchildren, Renee, Tera, Matt, Misty, Brooke, Katy, Michelle, John Jr., Amanda and Jacy; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Zelma (Bill) Frickson of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: his parents; two brothers; and two sisters.

Memorial Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo, with burial at a later date in Fairview Cemetery, Winthrop. There will be no visitation.
